How do you measure up?
Now, here is something to think about:
ETERNITY!
Is there such a thing?
IF NO:
Let’s do whatever we want! What’s the use?
IF YES: WHERE WILL YOU SPEND IT?
When you pass from this life into eternity, you will spend it in one of two places –
HEAVEN or SEPARATED FROM GOD ETERNALLY IN HELL!
THE BIBLE IS CLEAR:
God is eternal and dwells in heaven.
“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit…” Isaiah 57:15.
If you hope to go there and be with Him, you must be holy and sinless.
ARE YOU HOLY & SINLESS?
No one is! That is the problem, and God has the solution for our sin debt:
“For the WAGES of sin is death [separation], but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
IF YOU SAY THERE IS NO GOD, GOD SAYS:
“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God..." Psalm 14:1
AND
“The foolish shall not stand in thy presence: thou hatest all workers of iniquity." Psalm 5:5
You can’t be with God if you don’t trust completely in Him alone!
“For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"... There is none righteous, no, not one.” Romans 3:10
We are all in that boat, but God doesn’t leave us there, even though He ought to! He loves us in spite of our sin and our unbelief.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay our sin debt.
“For the wages of sin is death [separation]; but but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
God wants us all to be with Him in and for eternity.
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise… not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
WHAT MUST YOU DO? NOTHING!
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
You can’t be good enough or do enough. Neither will any religious rites help. It is not about you and what you can or have done.
It is about the free gift of God through Jesus, who can and will save you and give you eternal life; all that is needed is to believe on Him and receive Him in your heart. He is the gift of God, but you must receive it before it is a gift.
No matter what man may say, and what their religion may be, Jesus is the only way: “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE: NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER, BUT BY ME.” John 14:6
IT IS NOT ABOUT A PRAYER THAT CAN SAVE YOU; IT IS ABOUT A PERSON, JESUS, AND A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.
DO YOU WANT “ETERNITY” WITH HIM?
IF SO,
Simply ask Him; receive His free gift.
Repent toward God --Acts 20:21, and agree [confess] with Him about who Jesus is --Rom. 10:9. Believe in your heart that He, being sinless Himself, bore your sin on the cross of Calvary, and died in your stead --2 Cor. 5:21, and rose again the third day --1 Cor. 15:3-5, and now sits on the right hand of God. If you can believe that, and do believe that, simply confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and ask him to be your Lord and Savior --Rom. 10:13.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if an man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20
WELCOME INTO ETERNITY, IT IS REAL!
God tells us that we can have assurance of our salvation and eternity, that you can know your eternity is settled.
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:13
